Indulged my inner illustrator again a few weeks ago. I’m really just an amateur illustrator but I enjoy it. It’s actually quite relaxing. By the way these aren’t actual aircraft, but they are very similar to a Mirage III/Saab Draken and an A-4 Skyhawk. The roundels and markings are for a fictional nation.
Nick Campbell has some really good talks over at greyscalegorilla.com. One of the things he talked about which really stuck with me was the importance of creating something everyday, regardless of how good it ends up being, and then putting it out there for the world to see. Be sure to check out all of his talks, they’re amazing: http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/category/speaking/.
My goal is to eventually post one thing a day, but right now I think a few times a week will have to suffice. But this is progress.
Here are some style frames I made for a class project where we created concepts for a :15 spot promoting season 4 of Ugly Betty. Despite learning more than I ever wanted to know about Ugly Betty it was actually quite fun. Made these last semester, so will post some newer stuff soon!
And no, I didn’t make this in one day.
